Today we finally got confirmation that we can leave for China on the 24th...that's just 10 days away! Yippee!
Guess what? Our travel agent can't book tickets for us until she knows the name on the baby's passport. When we leave China the baby will have a Chinese passport with her original name: Chen, Hong Mei. However, once we stop in Hawaii to get her US passport it will read (drumroll, please): Eleni Hongmei! And of course she will have our last name. It is funny that we finally had to choose a name based pressure from the travel agent!
Reasons why Eleni is a good name:
- Greek, yet easy to say and spell
- Same "name day" as her daddy, Dino (Constantine)
- We got her referral information on St. Eleni day
- Convenient way to name a baby girl for my dad, Alan
- It was the overwhelming choice of the opinion poll...thanks for voting!
